Do you really know yourself?
Beginning to know myself. It was a process, it took time, work, tears & love. It is a passion of mine, it’s the reason I’m currently studying to become a Wellness & Resilience Coach, and I want to share that with you. Share how I’ve taken myself from disconnection to growing wholeness & knowing.
But first, how do you even know you don’t know yourself? How can you begin to change if the awareness of your relationship with yourself isn’t there?
How do you know if you know yourself, really?
Do you feel a confusion, a not-quite-right-ness, a sense of being lost?
I didn’t feel ease, I didn’t feel whole, I didn’t trust. I didn’t believe I was enough. I didn’t love myself so I couldn’t trust my decisions. I didn’t have any confidence in my actions because nothing came from confidence.
Not knowing yourself doesn’t mean you never enjoy life, enjoy yourself, love others, make connections.
But it does mean there may only be fleeting moments where you’re energised, filled with content joy.
What does losing connection with yourself mean?
It means some connections you’ve made aren’t truly right for you so you feel isolated and disconnected, misunderstood, despite being surrounded by people.
It means feeling separate from yourself so maybe you assume you’re boring, lesser than others because you don’t have passions, or you feel lost when you’re on your own.
It means making decisions is an art lost on you; there’s emptiness when trying to feel a yes or a no. Almost always, it’s a yes, because the only decision you do know to make is to please others and avoid conflict.
It means, maybe, your body is sending you messages and symptoms, communicating with you physically, shaking your shoulders to wake up from within.
There’s a numbness, an emptiness, a sadness. A feeling that is quiet at times but loud and overbearing at others.
Let’s reconnect…
Yet, from a place of disconnection, there is opportunity to connect. To reconnect, because it wasn’t always this way. Even if it was before you could walk, there was a time when you breathed love into your own heart and knew your worth.
Let’s get back there.
Learn to hold your own hand and dance to the rhythm of your own breath. Sing your own needs out loud with an unapologetic voice. Feel your emotions within the strong vessel of your own living body. Live with joy, wholeness and truth. We can all get back there.
With love,
Suzi x
